These were test installations to evaluate (amongst other things) font cases, letter size, letter spacing, line justification, arrows and other symbols, sign size and borders. The best way to test these things is to place them in the field where they will be seen and used. Because detailed wayfinding is a new program for Arlington, there are a number of logistic steps that are still being worked out between data collection, fabrication and installation. All errors will be corrected before the complete system of signs gets deployed. In the meantime, everyone's patience is appreciated.
