Arlington continues to be on the cutting edge of jurisdictions who value data collection as a high priority. In 2011, the number of automated trail counters on Arlington trails increased from a handful of counters to more than ten locations. Through the ever growing collection of data now available, distinct riding and commuting patterns among cyclists has emerged. Now we finally have hard data showing how temperature, precipitation, and snow plowing influence the number of bikes out on Arlington’s bike network.
