You may have noticed strange markings and poles along the bicycle and pedestrian sidepaths that parallel the Key Bridge. These are part of the program to install automatic counters county-wide.
These counters track bikes and pedestrian in both directions and initial reports show that the east side (downstream) carries significantly more traffic than the west side. Arlington County is grateful to DC's Department of Transportation for granting us the permit to install the counters. We anticipate sharing the data from these and other counters with the public once all of the counters are in place and up and running.
