WMATA is planning on doing some needed track work and is closing the Pentagon City, Crystal City and National Airport stations over the weekend. DON'T PANIC. You can still get there using transit, so please leave that car at home. The good folks at WMATA are providing plenty of help. Full Details here. Metro will be supplying lots of free shuttle bus service to help you make connections between and through the stations. And on 10-minute frequencies (which is often better than the weekend rail frequencies).
They will also have about 70 extra staff people posted at the 10 subway stations from the Pentagon southward on both the Yellow and Blue lines to help direct you to the right place. Also the Metrobus 9A and 10A serve the area. So check out the service details for bus bays and hours here. Or right click on the graphics below and open it in a new window (so you can scroll down) for a larger view of the print flyer with all the same info. And get out and about and enjoy your Labor Day weekend using transit.
Special Note: On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the last Blue and Yellow Line trains departing the Franconia-Springfield and Huntington stations for Braddock Road will leave 30 minutes earlier than usual to allow for connecting to the free shuttle buses and to the last trains departing the Pentagon station to Largo and Greenbelt.
