Virginia policymeister Jim Bacon (www.baconsrebellion.com) visited Arlington yesterday to learn more about our transit-oriented development successes. How, for example, we're able to add more housing units & residents while decreasing traffic and cars!
Of course, I talked about how much my husband and I are enjoying our new car-lite lifestyle -- and I was tickled to learn that Jim blogged about us! Read the blog posting>>>
We love being able to walk, bike and take transit to most places to need to go -- and I guess that enthusiasm shows! And (tee-hee!) Jim says Bob and I are in great shape! We save money, get exercise, have fun, reduce emissions -- what's not to like?
Diana Sun is Director of Communications for Arlington County, a walking commuter, a new biker, and a happy resident of the urban village of Clarendon.
Right on! I sold my car about a month ago so my husband and I now share one car. We both ride our folding bicycles and electric bicycles to work and cycle to nearby stores and entertainment/recreation venues as well. It's so much fun. We've saved money and lost weight. A great combination.
